(we)♥-bokeh

just as much as we love the bokeh effect in photos, we are already curious tho thy it. the bokeh effect is similar to when you are staring at water, let your eyes go out of focus, and can see shinny discs gliscening in the sunlight...

these beutiful photos are from artist irene suchocki, who is famous for her photos with heart shaped bokeh. if you would like to get this effect on you photos too, you only have to create a bokeh filter, which you can put onto the front of your lens and it will turn lights into heart shapes or whatever shape you desire.

bokeh comes from the japanese word "boke" by the way, which means "blur" or "haze". the japanese term "boke" is also used to describe mental haze or senility.

in photography this blur creates an aesthetic quality by keeping the subject of your photo in crisp focus, while the background appears blurry. at night, lights that are out of focus create circles of color that give photos a magical and ethereal feel. the circles are created by light coming into the lens and outlines the shape of the aperture.

so... have fun trying it! :) cu
